Dr. Joanne Gaines opened Ridgeview Animal Hospital in growing West Omaha in 2001. At the time, Wal-Mart had just opened across the street and Lowe’s was under construction down the street. To the west was open horizon!

After a little over a year at another Omaha practice, Dr. Gaines envisioned a practice where she could serve clients in a timely manner with a personal touch. The doors opened, and along with 2 other staff members (Shannon is still with us today!), we were off. In 2003, we were up to two full-time doctors.  As the practice grew, so did the staff, and in 2005, Dr. Gaines’ husband Adam joined the practice as the Business Manager so she could tend to the medical side of the practice more. With his degree in Operations Management, Adam jumped right in, and shortly after, the clinic took over two additional bays and expanded the physical footprint of the clinic. In that year, we also hired a third Veterinarian so that we could better serve the needs of our patients.

In 2008 we saw a partnership develop into Walnut Creek Veterinary Clinic, which Dr. Gaines opened with her classmate from Kansas State, BJ Ravnsborg. Located on 96th Street and Highway 370, easily accessible to the Papillion/ LaVista/ Ralston/ Bellevue community. In January 2016 Dr. Gaines and Dr. Ravnsborg joined up again to open Skyline Veterinary Clinic to serve the blossoming Elkhorn community. Located near Highway 6 and Highway 31, Skyline can help Elkhorn, Valley, Bennington, Waterloo, Ashland, Yutan and West Omaha pets’ needs. Adam manages all three practices.

Our goal at Ridgeview Animal Hospital continues to be served with a smile and in a timely manner. Ridgeview is truly blessed with an awesome staff and team of four full-time Veterinarians who care about the well being of our patients and their owners. If you are new to Ridgeview, we welcome you and look forward to taking care of your furry family members. To our existing clients, we say a big “Thank You!” for your continued trust in our care.
